可能和词源1一样。早期理论认为其派生自古希臘語 γύψ (gúps, 秃鹫)/ɡýps/,对比希臘語 γύπας (gýpas) /ˈʝi.pas/),[1][2]“指仆人偷东西的习惯”(由此派生出词源1),但这一理论无法解释发音。
