词源

可能借自意第绪语 שנויץ (shnoyts)，其源自德语 Schnauze (“鼻子”)。对比schnozzle。另一较少见理论认为其是一个受到schm-的影响或者和意第绪语单词联想而得到的nose的变体。至少1940年起已可考。
