词源
编辑源自中古英語 Excalaber，源自古法語 Escalibor、Escaliborc，Calliborc的修复形式，其为Calibourne的变换形式，源自中世紀拉丁語 Caliburnus（Geoffrey of Monmouth，约1136年），受到了calibs (“steel”)的影响（因为chalybs），变换自古威爾士語 Caledbulch（对比现代Caledfwlch），其为由caled (“硬的”)和bwlch (“裂缝”)构成的复合词。与愛爾蘭語中的圣剑名Caladbolg有关，其字面意思为“坚硬的腹部”，即“贪婪的”。

用法说明
